What I Done Without Them

I never thought,
I would see the day,
when the very ones closest to me,
would vanish and go away.

Her lovely grayish-white hair,
her pain and despair,
described my grandmother,
spectacular and fair.

His lovely black coat,
with the red in his beard,
my one and only,
my puppy that I have lost.

His deep teddy bear eyes,
and a touch so soft-sends chills down your spine,
but he would make sure I was warm,
here is to you my dear friend.

Now that I do not have any love,
I feel as if I have been torn,
I await a miracle in my life,
it took all of this to turn my attention to the Lord.
